I am a PhD candidate in the Nutritional Sciences Department at Cornell University, specializing in Molecular Nutrition in the Aydemire Lab. My research area is in manganese overexposure which can lead to parkinonism with motor and cognitive deficits. My work focuses on the role of ZIP14 in manganese transport in the brain, with a specific focus on astrocytes and endothelial cells, utilizing mouse and cell models. I take a multidisciplinary approach to my research because my interests and background include Physiology, Nutrition, and Neuroscience.
I am an intern with Cornell's Center for Technology Licensing where I am learning about the intersection between business, law and science.
Proudly, I am a double graduate of University of Cambridge and University College London with a Master's of Science (graduating with distinction). Thank you!
