Postdoctoral Research Scholar
University of Iowa
As a postdoctoral research scholar at the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Iowa, I wish to develop my expertise in lifestyle interventions to improve disease outcomes, especially in multiple sclerosis (MS). I have a solid background in basic science along with extensive experience of dietary intervention trials, and epidemiology. It has always been my ambition to bridge the bench to the bedside. As an early career investigator, my aim is to continue broadening my experience in conducting mechanistic research, using state-of-the-art technologies, and collaborating with other scientists. Recently, I secured the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center's Diana Benz Memorial Fund Seed Grant and received Honorable Mention from Graduate Women in Science (GWIS). Additionally, I have been awarded the Obermann Interdisciplinary Grant Program, which focuses on the role of social support in improving outcomes for individuals with MS.
I have also made substantial contributions to our academic publications, actively participating in publishing clinical trial protocols, original research papers, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Over the past year, I have distinguished myself as a presenter at several conferences, including the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC), The Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS) Young Scientists Summit, and the ACTRIMS Forum. Furthermore, I have been honored with two travel scholarships and one educational grant.
