As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with twenty years of experience, I am trained to assess the nutrition status and risk in pregnant women, infants, and young children, and identify specific nutrient deficiencies that are present that may affect the physical, social and cognitive development of children. As a faculty my research has been focused in the area of early childhood nutrition and development, and has included several university-funded projects on which I have served as PI or co-Investigator. My dissertation research included scale development,as it relates to assessing nutrition knowledge in young children. Currently I am collaborating on two projects including a retrospective chart review of infants and young children with prenatal substance exposure, as well as a preliminary study investigating the incidence of faltering growth, and related factors.
