Sandi Navarro, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist, in Cancer Prevention at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Division of Public Health Sciences. As a nutritional biochemist, her ongoing research interest is in understanding the mechanisms through which dietary components alter signaling pathways involved in cancer and other chronic diseases. She has substantial expertise in the areas of metabolism and biomarker development, with the majority of her work involving metabolomics data derived from dietary interventions and clinical trials. She currently serves as a Co-investigator on studies designed to develop biomarkers of dietary intake using metabolomics, including the Seattle Dietary Biomarker Consortium. Navarro also serves as the Director of the Biostatistics subcore for the University of Washington Nutrition and Obesity Research Center.
