Dr. Sibylle Kranz is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Associate Professor in Kinesiology with an Adjunct Associate Professorship in the Department of Public Health at the University of Virginia and a Fellow of The Obesity Society (TOS). She earned her Doctorate in public health nutrition at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2002 and has pursued an academic career since. Her research focusses on the definition and measurement of diet quality, especially in children, and studying behavior change interventions to improve diet quality in children and adults. She published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers on these topics and has presented her work in approximately 300 abstracts at national and international professional conferences. Her work was cited more than 3000 times (h-index 30). She currently served as the Chair of the Nutrition Education and Behavioral Sciences (NEBS) RIS at ASN 2021-2023 and as member of the National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) committee on "The role of seafood on child growth and development" (2022-2024).
