Dr. Børsheim is a Professor in the Dept. of Pediatrics and Dept. of Geriatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She is an Associate Director of the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center (ACNC), a national human nutrition research center funded by the USDA-Agricultural Research Services. She leads the translational research group Physical Activity, Energetics, and Metabolism, directs a Physical Activity core at the ACNC, and directs the Metabolism and Bioenergetics Core in the NIH-Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) funded Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention at the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute. Her background is in physiology, and her research focuses on the effects of nutrition and physical activity/exercise on cardiometabolic health throughout life, with a special focus on early life.
