Jessica is a research dietitian specializing in ketogenic eating patterns. She is currently wrapping up her PhD in medical nutrition science at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She completed her MS in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2018 and wrote her thesis on immune system dysregulation in the perioperative window of radical cystectomy in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Jessica currently works as the study coordinator and lead dietitian on the Therapeutic Diets in Alzheimer's Disease (TDAD) study comparing a ketogenic diet and heart healthy diet in individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease. Her dissertation project is titled Ketogenic Diet Health and Longevity and investigated changes in cardiometabolic biomarkers, body composition, RNA expression, and microbiome in healthy adults following a well-formulated ketogenic diet. Her main area of interest is healthy aging with special interest in autoimmune/GI disruptions, cognitive health, and cancer.
