Juliana Teruel Camargo, PhD, MPH, is a researcher and advocate in nutrition and public health. She is a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically within the Minority Health and Health Disparities Population Lab at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Dr. Camargo's research focuses on understanding how social determinants of health impact diet and cardiometabolic outcomes, with a particular emphasis on Latino populations. Her work includes studying the influences of social and built environments on dietary patterns and nutrition-related health outcomes.
In addition to her research, Dr. Camargo is an active member of the American Society for Nutrition. She currently holds the ASN Science Policy Fellowship, a role that allows her to bridge the gap between nutrition research and policy-making. Through this fellowship, she advocates for evidence-based policies that can lead to health equity.
