Graduate student
The Ohio State University
Nabilla E. Audina is a student in the Human Nutrition Master’s program (thesis track) at The Ohio State University. She obtained her bachelor's degree in nutrition and credentials as a dietitian from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted a study on the relationship between immunonutrient intake and health outcomes among the elderly in rural and urban areas of Indonesia. After the completion of her Dietetic Internship, she worked as a practicing dietitian in a health insurance start-up company, proving nutritional counselling and education mainly for adults with overweight and obesity. Through this career, she encountered some challenges in weight management. She also identified correlations between mental states (i.e. emotional eating and sleep quality) and nutrition (i.e. food choices and nutrients intake) among her clients. Motivated by these findings, she decided to pursue a master’s degree with a Fulbright Scholarship. She is working with Dr. Hatsu’s lab, which focuses on food insecurity and the relationship between nutrition and mental health, especially in children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
