USDA-ARS Western Human Nutrition Research Center, Texas A&M Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture
Stephanie Wilson is a postdoctoral research fellow with Dr. Danielle Lemay at the USDA ARS Western Human Nutrition Research Center in Davis, California. Dr. Wilson has a PhD and MS in Nutrition from Montana State University and a BS in Exercise Science from Indiana University. Her work at the USDA is a part of a research initiative between USDA-ARS scientists and the Texas A&M Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture. Dr. Wilson’s research utilizes natural language processing and machine learning to delve into how consumption of dietary polyphenols relates to inflammation in humans, exploring the role of the gut microbiome as a key facilitator in polyphenol bioavailability and bioefficacy. Dr. Wilson's ASN abstract examining polyphenol intake and the gut microbial community was selected as a finalist in the Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Poster Competition. Additionally, she serves as the postdoctoral representitive for the Dietary Bioactive Components RIS and is the chair for DBC RIS Poster Theater Flash Session at this year's NUTRITION.
