Kate Marris is a PhD student studying nutrition at The Ohio State University in the Belury Laboratory. She assists with studies that investigate the effect bioactive lipids and their metabolites have on cardiometabolic diseases including NAFLD and cancer. Kate received her bachelor's degree in dietetics from the University of Florida. While at the University of Florida she researched the effects of claim validation on health benefits of self-initiated dietary interventions and was awarded the Davis Foundation Projects for Peace Grant to help increase nutrition literacy. Kate is currently researching mitochondrial lipidome changes that occur after anthracycline treatment in women with breast cancer.
