Alva Nidia Laprada Villegas, MSC, is a doctoral student in Nutrition Sciences at the UABC (Mexicali, BC, MX). She has a bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences from the University of Sonora (Hermosillo, Son. MX) and a Master of Science degree with a focus on community nutrition and public health from CIAD, A.C. (Hermosillo, Son. MX). She has five years of teaching practice experience and has experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of public health programs to improve the health of children, parents and the school context. She has attended and participated in national and international conferences. Currently, her dissertation project focuses on a health promotion program to improve cardiorespiratory fitness and eating behaviors of families who participate in community centers.
