Dr. Ling Zhao is a Professor in the Department of Nutrition, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Zhao’s research focuses on understanding white, brown, and beige adipocyte biology and characterizing nutritional and pharmacological strategies for obesity treatment and prevention. Her research has been funded by NIH and private foundations. Dr. Zhao received her Ph.D. from the University of California Berkeley in 2002 and postdoc training from the University of California Davis and Western Human Nutrition Research Center, USDA, before joining the UT Nutrition Department in 2009 as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Zhao currently serves as an editorial board member for the Journal of Nutrition Biochemistry, Frontiers in Nutrition, and Nutrients and as an ad hoc reviewer for 30-plus journals in the Nutrition field.
