Dr. Oza-Frank's training and education was in nutrition and epidemiology, and she is also a registered dietitian. She has degrees in nutrition science, public health nutrition, and nutrition and health sciences from Ohio State University, University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and Emory University, respectively. The bulk of her work experience has been in academia and state government, working across adult, maternal, and pediatric populations across a variety of topics including chronic disease prevention, mainly obesity and diabetes/GDM, breastfeeding promotion, and infant and maternal mortality/morbidity surveillance and prevention. In her role as an epidemiologist in the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity at CDC, her main areas of focus include food service guidelines, policy surveillance, program evaluation, and food and nutrition security.
