Dr. Sajid Soofi is an endowed Professor of Paediatrics & Child Health and Associate Director at the Center of Excellence in Women and Child Health at Aga Khan University, Pakistan. Dr. Soofi is a clinician-researcher and a public health scientist with vast experience in hospital and community-based research.
Dr. Soofi's research areas include maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health, emphasizing nutrition and infectious diseases. He has spearheaded multiple high-impact clinical trials and large-scale national and international nutrition surveys. His research emphasizes the integration of new-born, children, and particularly nutrition & malnutrition interventions into existing health system programs. The evidence assembled through these trials has played an instrumental role in guiding policy and programs targeting MNCH survival.
He has successfully received over 60 highly competitive research grants and brings very expedient collaborations from leading funding agencies and academic institutions. In addition, he has published over 200 research publications in numerous high-impact international journals.
