Dr McCrory is a Research Associate Professor of Nutrition in the Department of Health Sciences at Boston University. She holds BS and MS degrees in Exercise Science and a PhD in Nutrition from the University of California at Davis. She completed postdoctoral training in the Energy Metabolism Laboratory at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University. Dr McCrory studies eating patterns such as snacking, eating frequency, meal skipping and timing, dietary variety; their interactions with dietary composition such as macronutrients and fiber; and their effects on energy balance and appetite. She is an expert in dietary assessment, with much of her research focused on improving the measurement of dietary intake. Dr McCrory was named an International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Future Leader in nutrition in 2003 and presently serves on the Editorial Boards of the scientific journals Advances in Nutrition, Frontiers in Nutrition, and Nutrients and is a member of ANSA, the Avocado Nutrition Science Advisory. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her Tibetan Terriers, Aggie and Moonie.
