Shuhan Li is a Food Science PhD candidate at the University of Florida. In her Master's project, She worked on the inhibitory capacities of cranberry polyphenols against uropathogenic E. coli adhesion to T24 human bladder cells in vitro. After graduating in 2021, she continued her PhD study in the same lab to work on the effects of cranberry juice intake on the urinary metabolome and gut microbiome of healthy females to prevent UTIs. To achieve this goal, she conducted a clinical trial that included 152 participants in the prescreening and 30 participants in a cross-over study. UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap-HRMS and multivariate analyses have been applied to investigate changes in the urinary metabolome and different responses to cranberry juice in people.
