Joseph Varre is a PhD student in Nutrition Science at Utah State University with extensive research experience in studying the impact of agricultural practices on the nutrient density of produce and its implications for human health. Currently, Joseph is investigating the effects of various finishing practices and terroir on the nutrient density of produce, utilizing analytical techniques such as GC, LC-MS, and molecular biology techniques including PCR, q-PCR, and western blots. Additionally, Joseph is involved in human nutrition trials to examine the health impacts of consuming produce from different agricultural and farming practices, with a particular focus on fatty acid levels. Passionate about both academic and industry applications, Joseph aims to bridge the gap between research and practical implementation, contributing to the field through rigorous research and a commitment to improving public health nutrition.
