Dr. Elizabeth Prado was a pioneer in the field of early life nutrition and development. Her lab, the TRELLIS Lab (Translational Research in Early Life Learning for Impact at Scale), aimed to translate basic science knowledge on nutrition and development into practical interventions that benefit mothers and children. Her research on the effects of enhanced nutrition and environment on child development used several rigorous methodologies, including randomized trials, meta-analyses, and innovative measures of brain function and structure. Her work has informed national nutrition programs and global policies aimed at improving child development. In this symposium, we will showcase research inspired by Dr. Prado’s work. Together, the presentations exemplify how Dr. Prado’s work innovated, inspired, and laid important groundwork in the field of nutrition and early child development in resource-limited settings.
