Carmen Ortega-Santos is an Assistant Professor in the Exercise and Nutrition Sciences Department at the Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University. Former T32 postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical campus and the Colorado Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC). She earned her Ph.D. in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at Arizona State University, focusing on the synergistic and independent effects of nutrition and exercise on the gut microbiome. She has practiced weight management and sports nutrition, predominantly with female athletes, as a Registered Dietitian.
