My research interests are the interplay between the gut microbiome and the host immune system and how dietary components affect our immune response. My recent project employs chemical-induced colitis and colon cancer as the model to study how structurally different dietary fibers alter the intestinal immune system through the gut microbiome and fibers' fermentation products. In the future, I hope my study can help explain the pathology of ulcerative colitis and release the suffering of people with UC.
