Donato Angelino is Associate Professor of Human Nutrition at the University of Teramo, Italy. He previously served as Assistant Professor of Human Nutrition at the same University. He previously joined the Human Nutrition at the University of Parma (Italy) as Post-Doctoral Senior Research Fellow and previously attended, as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He has been involved in the design and management of human dietary intervention trials, focusing on anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic effects of functional foods. He has skills in purification and characterization of plant-derived compounds from vegetables and evaluation of their bioavailability as well as their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in animals. He is also involved in studies focusing on food labelling and related health issues.
Since 2022 he is Member of the Board of the Directors of the Italian Society of Human Nutrition (SINU). In 2020 he was awarded by the prestigious “Gruppo 2003” as outstanding young researcher in the field of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
