Mary C Andreae, PhD, RD, LDN, is a Registered Dietitian and an Assistant Professor in the Didactic Program for Dietetics at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), Johnson City, Tennessee. She completed her doctoral studies in the Biomedical Sciences program at Quillen School of Medicine, ETSU. Her primary research focus is the intestinal microbiome, fecal fermentation profile, and macronutrient metabolism in HIV-infected human subjects. Additional areas of research include biochemistry and absorption of micronutrients, including vitamin D and coenzyme Q10; obesity, oxidative stress, inflammation, and whole food and single nutrient antioxidant supplementation.
