Joseph B. Clift, EdD, MPH, MS serves as the Assistant Deputy Administrator for Research and Regulatory Affairs at the United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service, Office of Policy Support. He has over 20 years of public health, policy, and research experience, including leadership of national programs for the federal government. Dr. Clift’s federal experience includes working at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to his federal career, he worked in the environmental health field as a government contractor and as an evaluator at a small firm. He earned his doctoral degree in health education at Nova Southeastern University, master’s in public health at Kent State, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental studies from the University of Maryland. He is currently pursuing a master’s in legal studies at Northeastern University School of Law.
