Hae-Jeung Lee is currently a Professor at the Department of Food and Nutrition; Professor, Gachon Advanced Institute for Health Sciences & Technology; and Chief, Institute for Aging and Clinical Nutrition Research at Gachon University in South Korea. She is also the director of Hanam City Food Management Support Center for Children and Seniors. Her research interests include evaluating the relationship between food bioactive compounds and chronic disease through biochemical experiments and epidemiological studies. She is also a national health and nutrition survey expert. She lectures on nutrition big data, nutritional biochemistry, and molecular biochemistry for undergraduate and graduate students. She is working on multiple projects interpreting epidemiological results with biochemical mechanisms. Starting from four years ago, she has been conducting various projects using epidemiological and genetic biochemistry approaches in order to evaluate the relationship between iodine intake and thyroid disease in the Korean population. She has authored over 130 SCI index papers related to the epidemiology, in vitro, in vivo, and clinical research.
