Dr. Cydne Perry is a human nutrition researcher who investigates the relationship between diet and muscle and metabolic health in diverse and at-risk human populations with the goal of generating data that will scientifically inform the development of therapeutic dietary patterns and nutrient intake recommendations that will in turn enhance the life span and promote health and well-being. To achieve this goal Dr. Perry uses two primary approaches: (i) controlled-feeding dietary intervention studies and (ii) systems-biology approaches that include targeted and non-targeted assessments of biochemical and molecular endpoints. Current projects include the impact of animal and vegetable protein within the Dietary Guidelines for Americans dietary pattern on muscle health in older adults
Dr. Perry completed her postdoctoral training in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. She earned her PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
