Chelsea Garcia is a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Connecticut in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, where she received her Bachelor of Science. While at UConn for her undergraduate degree, she was a McNair Fellow, Bridging the Gap Fellow, McNair Scholar, and University Scholar. She has been working in Dr. Christopher Blesso's laboratory since 2017 and has been a co-author on six peer-reviewed research articles and two first-author publications. As a graduate student, she received the CAHNR Diversity Enhancing Graduate Assistantship and was selected as a finalist for the Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Abstract Recognition Award Program. Her research focuses on the effects of bioactive lipids on inflammation in chronic diseases.
