I am a registered dietitian by training and worked in neonatal intensive care before starting my PhD at UC Davis in 2022. My experiences in these clinical settings compelled me to transition to a career in research, hoping that I could have a more systemic impact as a researcher than as a single clinician. I am currently a member of Dr. Carolyn Slupsky's lab and am working on the MOM2CHild project in collaboration with several researchers from the University of Cincinnati. This project utilizes a systems biology approach to define the impact of maternal obesity, along with its associated inflammation and co-morbidities, on human milk, lactation, and infant health.
