Mr. Gul Nawaz Khan is a Senior Manager Research at the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health at Aga Khan University, Pakistan. By academics he is a Social Scientist and Public Health Specialist. He has over 20 years of experience in maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition. He is interested in the intersection between social behavior, gender and cultural norms, and maternal and child malnutrition, and has integrated these into his research when working with communities in Pakistan and in developing countries. This has included the development of culturally appropriate behaviour change communication materials and undertaking quantitative and qualitative research to understand how local beliefs and sociocultural practices influence maternal, infant, and young child feeding practices. He successfully executed 20 research projects and collaborated with national and regional government agencies and NGOs. He has authored of 22 peer-review publications, over research 40 reports, and over 50 conference abstracts, and presented several presentations to national and international audiences.
