Sant-Rayn Pasricha is a group leader and division head at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research, and a clinical and laboratory haematologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, in Melbourne, Australia. In the lab, Sant-Rayn studies basic and translational aspects of iron homeostasis and anaemia. He also works in global health, with an interest in developing evidence for anaemia control policy. He is Chief Investigator of a number of ongoing trials evaluating the effects of iron supplementation on health outcomes in mothers and babies across Malawi and Bangladesh. He consults extensively on aspects of anaemia control for international organisations including the World Health Organization, and leads the newly established WHO Collaborating Centre for Anaemia detection and control.
