Chloe (Panizza) Lozano is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Lozano received her PhD in Nutrition at the University of Hawaii, is a Dietitian, and received a Master's in Health Promotion from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia.
Dr. Lozano's research is primarily centered around enhancing diet quality to reduce obesity and ultimately prevent cancer and other chronic conditions among children and adults in the Pacific region. Dr. Lozano concentrates on several key areas, including the development and validation of technology based dietary assessment methods, community-based participatory research, mHealth based nutrition interventions, nutrition education, and enhancing existing community-based federal nutrition programs by coupling these programs with mHealth technology. The goal of partnering with federal nutrition programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) is to improve the dissemination, implementation, and sustainability of her research.
