Postdoctoral Fellow
Pennington Biomedical Research Center
I completed my PhD at Penn State University under Dr. Penny Kris-Etherton and Dr. Kristina Petersen. My research examines the health effects of nutritional interventions on indicators of chronic metabolic diseases. I have several ongoing and previous studies examining nut intake, behavioral factors, food timing and their impact on diet quality, cardiometabolic risk factors, and the gut microbiota. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Pennington Biomedical Research Center (LSU) under Dr. Claire Berryman. My postdoctoral research examines the effects of environmental (i.e., low oxygen) and nutritional interventions to promote body weight loss, the microbiota, and metabolic health in adults with obesity. I plan to develop my research skills and become an independent researcher studying precision nutrition to improve chronic disease outcomes.
