Joanne F. Guthrie is a Senior Research Nutritionist in the Food Economics Division of the Economic Research Service (ERS) of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. She began her Federal service career as a student employee at the USDA/ARS Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. In addition, she worked with several other Federal agencies, including the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before coming to ERS. She is a former Peace Corps Volunteer. She holds a Master’s of Public Health degree and a doctoral degree in Human Nutrition. She has authored or co-authored numerous USDA publications and has published in peer-reviewed journals. Most recently, she has authored or co-authored several publications on national food consumption habits and trends.
