Professor of Physiology and Nutrition
Charles Sturt University, Australia
Professor Bing Wang received her medical degree from Tianjin Medical University, China, and Ph.D. in Nutritional Science from the University of Sydney Australia, and has been a registered Nutritionist in the Nutrition Society of Australia since 2008. She led Nutritional Neurodevelopment Research programs in academia and industry before joining Charles Sturt University in Dec 2012. Her research is focused on elucidating the molecular basis of how nutrient components alter metabolic responses important in neurodevelopment and cognition from fetal development to late life, and in translating basic science discoveries to clinical and industrial applications. She received “The Most Valuable Presentation” at the International Milk Genomics Consortium symposium in 2016, Davis, USA, and “The Enthusiastic Research Award" at FASEB Origins and Benefits of Biologically Active Components in Human milk conference in 2017, Lisbon Portugal, and Fellow of Nutrition Society of Australia in 2023. She has made major contributions to the field of Milk Biology, Nutritional Glycoscience & Nutritional Neurodevelopment, and has emerged as an international leader in the significant role of sialylated human milk oligosaccharides in brain development and cognition.
