Gitanjali Lall is a PhD candidate in Health Promotion Education and Behavior at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina. She has a Masters in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice from University College London and Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, London and a Masters in Health Psychology from University of Hyderabad. Her interests lie primarily in early child development (ECD) and interventions that may help promote the same in Low- and Middle-Income countries.
Gitanjali worked with the not-for-profit, Sangath in India as a researcher on A Scalable Programme Incorporating Early Child Development Interventions (ASPIRE) and the Communication-centred Parent-mediated treatment for Autism Spectrum disorder in South Asia (COMPASS) trials, collaborating with state governments and UNICEF for implementing and evaluating interventions. As part of her PhD, she has been building her skills in intervention development, implementation, and evaluation. She has also been working on ECD trials like Alive &Thrive and Benefits and Risks of Iron Interventions in Children (BRISC) to further expand her knowledge base and exposure to ECD interventions. Post her PhD, she wants to work to promote healthy child development, mental health, and early learning at a large-scale through participating in development of policies and community-based interventions in the Global South.
