Dr. Leslie Redmond is a US registered dietitian with a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology from James Madison University and a Doctorate degree in human nutrition from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba, where her research interests include the promotion of nutrition and physical activity through theory-based, culturally appropriate, community-centered interventions to decrease diet- and lifestyle-related chronic disease burden, specifically in partnership with Indigenous communities, and sustainable solutions to food insecurity among minoritized populations and university students. She believes that educators have a critical responsibility to provide engaging, affordable, and accessible learning experiences for students to support their success, including facilitating opportunities for interprofessional learning and research experiences for all students.
