Suzanne Morton is a Nutrition Research Scientist with the American Society for Nutrition and works as a contractor in the Food Surveys Research Group in the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center at the USDA. She conducts research and updates ingredient and nutrient profiles of food and beverages in the USDA Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies used in What We Eat in America, NHANES, and conducts research using this data. She first used WWEIA data to complete her master’s thesis in epidemiology, analyzing adherence to the DASH diet among people with and without diabetes, and has conducted research on the usual intake of added sugars, snacking patterns and sources of food and beverages in U.S. adults. Prior to joining ASN, Ms. Morton conducted research and analysis of health care services at the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Ms. Morton received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from George Washington University, her Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, and her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
