Brooke Wickman, MS, RD (she/her) is a fifth year nutritional biology PhD candidate at the University of California, Davis in Dr. Francene Steinberg's lab. She is studying the implementation and effectiveness of the DASH diet for heart failure management using a pragmatic clinical trial. Her research interests include cardiovascular nutrition, chronic disease prevention and management, precision nutrition, and dietetics education using effectiveness research and implementation science strategies. She has experience teaching nutrition undergraduates, nutrition and exercise physiology master’s students, dietetic interns, doctor of physical therapy students, and medical students. Brooke’s professional interests include interprofessional education, equitable dietetics education, and pipeline optimization for nutrition clinician scientists. Brooke is seeking postdoctoral research training in health systems and implementation science to promote cardiovascular health equity, optimized health care delivery, and patient-centeredness through the evaluation and implementation of evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
