Dr. Cindy Leung is an Assistant Professor of Public Health Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a nutrition epidemiologist with additional training in health psychology and health disparities research. Her program of research focuses on understanding structural determinants of diet-related health disparities in the United States, with a particular focus on populations at risk of food insecurity. Her research has extensively examined the effects of food insecurity on dietary quality, health behaviors, and physical and mental health on populations across the life course using both quantitative and qualitative methods. She holds a ScD in nutrition and epidemiology from Harvard University and an MPH from UC Berkeley, and was previously the John G. Searle Assistant Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
