Kaelyn Burns is a PhD candidate in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University at Buffalo. She has a master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Delaware she currently serves as an Executive Committee member for the Student Interest Group of ASN. Kaelyn’s research interest is in nutritional epidemiology, focusing on the role of dietary intake in chronic disease development. Kaelyn was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (F31) from the NHLBI to support her dissertation, which aims to clarify the clarify the interplay between a diet high in choline, metabolism, the gut microbiome, and their effects on atherosclerosis.
