Dr. Attia is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at the University of Kentucky focused on practical solutions for the treatment of childhood and maternal malnutrition. She is currently an NIH BIRCWH Scholar (Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health). Her research currently investigates the role of nutrient-dense easy to grow and drought-resistant Moringa oleferia leaf powder supplementation to breastfeeding women for the enhancement of maternal milk quality and quantity and it's influence on infant health. She is also investigating the effects of this fiber- and isothiocyanate-rich plant food on maternal and infant intestinal health. She welcomes discussion on moringa and on other tools in the prevention of childhood and maternal malnutrition!
