Shannon Herbert, PhD, RD, CDN is a registered dietitian and yoga instructor. Shannon specializes in lifestyle management of women's hormonal health. Her areas of expertise include polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism, fertility, perimenopause, and menopause. Her research focuses on weight-neutral lifestyle approaches for optimizing women's health. Her doctoral research explored the need for and acceptability of a weight-neutral approach for the management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Shannon aims to improve the health of women living with hormonal concerns through a whole-body approach.
Shannon received a Bachelor of Science in Global Public Health & Nutrition and Dietetics, a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. She completed her dietetic internship at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY. Shannon currently works as a private practice dietitian and teaches at New York University in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies.
