Dr. Cienfuegos, a Ph.D. in human nutrition, is an expert in the field of intermittent fasting. She has published several papers in journals such as Cell, Annual Reviews, and Nature, demonstrating her knowledge and contribution to the field. Dr. Cienfuegos has actively participated in scientific training for professionals globally. She has also played a key role as a Co-Investigator on R01 projects (R01DK119783 and R01DK128180) focusing on the health benefits of fasting. Dr. Cienfuegos has conducted research on the effectiveness of shorter time-restricted eating (TRE) windows. Her experience includes designing and coordinating R01-funded clinical trials and leading research teams during recruitment, counseling, and data analysis. Currently, Dr. Cienfuegos is engaged in a pioneering randomized controlled trial (RCT) investigating the role of intermittent fasting in females with PCOS. Her research aims to enhance our understanding of the various roles of fasting for female reproductive health.
