Dr Sebanti Ghosh, currently Sr. Technical Advisor Nutrition, Alive & Thrive South Asia a Public Health & Nutrition Expert and Leader, has been working for over 24 years in the domain of Maternal, Newborn/Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition policy and programming support across India and South Asian countries. She has successfully provided technical and programmatic leadership to the Alive & Thrive India program over the past five and half years since its inception.
She is a medical doctor with post-graduation in Preventive and Social Medicine and Health Systems Management & Policy (LSHTM UK)) along with an interdisciplinary degree in Gender, Health and Development (Canada).
Her expertise includes evidence-based policy making & strategic planning & implementation support at national & state level for at scale public health and nutrition programs focusing on quality and equity, health systems strengthening, capacity building, implementation research, monitoring & evaluation, community participation and gender mainstreaming in health & nutrition.
She is a member of several Technical Expert Committees on Maternal Newborn & Child Health & Nutrition at national level and has contributed to multiple key policy and program guidelines like RMNCH+A strategy, India Newborn Action Plan, National Guidelines on Kangaroo Mother care & optimal feeding for LBW, MAA program for Breastfeeding, Homebased Care for Young Children and Anemia Mukt Bharat over the past several years.
She has been earlier working in senior technical & leadership positions at John Snow Inc., Technical Assistance Support Team (TAST) under DFID supported Health Sector Reforms Programme in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal, WHO, and in providing technical consultancy support to government, UN agencies like UNICEF, UNDP, and International & national NGOs. She also has extensive experience of working and providing technical and program guidance to multiple international, national, and state level NGOs and national level networks of organizations.
She has multiple presentations and publications to her credit in international conferences and peer reviewed journals.
