Dr Steve Mears is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Sport and Exercise Nutrition from Loughborough University, UK. His research examines nutritional interventions for health and performance in endurance exercise. Specifically, his two main areas of research are i) hydration and renal health/function and ii) the influence of carbohydrate metabolism and hypohydration on exercise performance with both areas including environmental physiology. Steve is also leading the Sport for Climate Action and Nature Reseach Cluster with a focus on how sport impacts and is impacted by climate change.
