(P30-039-24) ProbioSurveillance Chlorophyllin: Emphasizing Microbiome Research in a Modular Dietary Supplement Study

Objectives: "ProbioSurveillance Chlorophyllin" is a pivotal segment of a broader observational cohort project, specifically designed to explore the impact of various dietary supplements, with a strong emphasis on chlorophyllin, on health biomarkers. A central focus of this study is to gather comprehensive data on gut microbiome changes, given its critical role in overall health and disease.

Methods: The Chlorophyllin module within the "ProbioSurveillance" framework aims to recruit between 100-200 participants. These participants will be divided into four distinct groups, each receiving different combinations of dietary supplements including alfalfa, inulin, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), and xylooligosaccharide (XOS). A significant emphasis is placed on microbiome analysis, which involves advanced nanopore sequencing of stool samples from both intervention and control groups. This approach allows for a cumulative collection of microbiome data from healthy controls, providing a valuable baseline for comparative analysis. Additionally, the study incorporates various other assessments, such as metabolic profiling through HPLC of urine samples, liver health evaluation using FibroScan, BodyScan technology for body composition analysis, and skin health assessment with a Mexameter.

Results: The data from this module will be integrated into the larger "ProbioSurveillance" database. Special attention will be given to the interpretation of microbiome data, which is expected to yield significant insights into the effects of dietary supplements on gut health.

Conclusions: "ProbioSurveillance Chlorophyllin" is uniquely positioned to advance our understanding of the microbiome's role in dietary supplement interventions. By focusing on the gut microbiome, alongside other health biomarkers, the study will contribute substantially to the field of nutritional science, potentially influencing future dietary guidelines and health interventions.
